3M Fires Group President Michael Vale

3M announced this week that it has fired group president and chief business and country officer Michael Vale due to “inappropriate personal conduct and violation of company policy.”

Vale assumed this position last month having worked at 3M for more than 30 years according to AP. The report states that Vale was terminated last Friday, May 12, but did not specify the reason beyond that the violation of policy was “unrelated to the company’s operations and financial performance.”

3M reportedly declined to comment further when asked by AP, but the company is already searching for his replacement.

The company also recently announced that it would cut thousands of jobs as a result of restructuring, impacting about 6,000 jobs worldwide — including 2,500 manufacturing roles.
